ChumBonus – Who do you know?

Our latest video launched last night! Check it out below and let us know what you think.

We have been very busy with site development. Or I should say the crowd has been busy. The final build or “Assembly” contest wrapped up on TopCoder on Wednesday and the app is now in review. We hope to roll into QA this weekend. Our “go live” date has slipped a few days but we think the delay was prudent.

The “launch” strategy has been a challenge and after much debate and consultation with our PR firm TierOne, we decided to roll the system out to approximately 10 users initially followed by a local Washington, DC launch and then a national push. We want to make sure we have both the application and the back office functions nailed down before we release it fully.

ChumBonus – Who do you know?

For quite some time we have been talking about a better mousetrap for finding jobs online and we are loading the cheese as we speak. The site is scheduled to launch in a beta version on March 19th.

The crowdsourcing model is working well and our supporters at TopCoder have been working hard on construction and development of the prototype which is now live.We have also engaged the fine folks at Tier One Partners (www.tieronepr) to help us navigate the PR world and make sure the message about finding jobs for your friends and helping save the planet through ChumBonus reaches the masses.

Additionally, our first video has been rolled out and can be seen here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yZMAuHhFjM).We encourage you to check it out as well as our about page.Interested to hear about the launch?Follow us on Twitter or fan us on FaceBook. The links are to the right.

Validation at the Disco

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Well it wasn’t really a Disco it was TWIN TECH III at the Lux Lounge in Washington, DC produced by iStrategyLabs and NVTC. 2000 of your closest IT industry mover and shaker friends at a major networking event.

We weren’t really sure what to expect but armed with sweet new business cards and a business model to introduce, we jumped into the fray. The noise level and the crowd made it hard to hear sometimes but companies were discussed, business cards were exchanged and networking was accomplished.

Our take-away was that people love the ChumBonus model (www.chumbonus.com/about/) and are eager for the launch which is scheduled for the beginning of March. We know it is a cool model and our friends and associates tell us they agree but the validation that comes from genuine excitement on a stranger’s face when you tell them what you are up to is sweet.
